I’ve said it over and over…”Most people really don’t know what I do!” The media has done a great job of misleading you as to what I do. No, I’m not an insurance salesman…no, I don’t want to rollover your 401(k)…no, I don’t want to sell you a worthless faux leather binder of rates of return, graphs, and numbers and call it a “financial plan”. That is “hardware”....that's all "left brained stuff". You might have bought some of these from someone you call a financial advisor, but what you have is strictly product…regardless of how big the building, or how much they advertise on the weekend.
Regarding personal finances, traditional thought is based on historical averages and assumptions, which are math driven tactics. When you think about money, do you do it with your mind and your dreams…or with a calculator? Money has emotion...it has feeling…it comes with thought. Using numbers to facilitate these “right brained concepts” creates tactics. Tactics come with sales pitches, features and benefits, product sales, and of course traditional thought. Hardware by itself won’t get you where those dreams are taking you without the software.
Using specific questions to facilitate the list of emotions, dreams, goals, wants, desires and those “things that keep you up at night” creates strategies. Strategies come with a process. Process leads to validation, verification, and “myth busting”…and this creates a true course of action based on what you want…rather than what a market, or a salesman, says you can have. That is “software”…putting together the processes to make the hardware work as efficiently as possible.
I get asked all the time what I charge for a consultation…my answer is always the same…”Conversations are free.” If you're looking to develop a financial strategy versus purchasing products and prepackage advice, lets meet for coffee one morning or late afternoon. My process starts with asking you very targeted questions about where you want and need to be today and in the future. Then I'll go away think about our discussion and architect a solution based on my experience and your perspective. We'll meet a second time to discuss my proposed approach. From there the decision is yours. No sales pitch, just a solid plan for achieving attainable goals.
Take the next step. Call me or drop me an e-mail to schedule our first, no obligation session. And thank you for visiting my web site.
